Expert reveals how to 'ease the stress' of homebuying

Property experts have commented on how to minimise the problem of buying a house, after a survey revealed that over 70 per cent of homebuyers find buying a property very or extremely stressful.

Property experts have commented on how to minimise the problem of buying a house, after a survey revealed that over 70 per cent of homebuyers find buying a property very or extremely stressful.

The results from the Homebuyer Show, showed that more than a third of respondents said their biggest concern was that their purchase would fall through.

Nick Clark, managing director of the Homebuyer Show, provides a number of tips to reduce the stress of the process.

He advises that homebuyers organise relevant paperwork prior to putting an offer in place and suggests they arrange a bridging loan to "ensure a smooth process".

Mr Clark also believes that the proposed introduction of Home Information Packs in 2007 will make the process more "transparent".

The packs, which are expected to cost between £650 and £1,000, will contain in-depth information on properties.

Buyers will possess greater knowledge and it will be less likely that potential deals will fall through, Mr Clark believes.
