Rics: Property value up

For the first time in 15 months, property prices have gone up, according to figures released by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Rics).

For the first time in 15 months, property prices have gone up, according to figures released by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Rics).

In the quarter preceding November, more surveyors reported property price increases than falls, according to the Rics survey.

This is a feat which had not been achieved since last August and has contributed to a more positive housing market outlook for the future.

"All the numbers point to renewed price rises. There is a universal expectation from agents that interest rates are heading down again in the new year, which is providing the market with confidence," said Ian Perry, spokesman for Rics.

"The biggest increases have been seen in London where city bonuses are expected to help the market along in the coming months."

Buyer inquiries have gone up in the last six months, with sales of property up in November.
